Relay For Life is a community celebration where participants camp out, dance and take turns walking, running or rolling around a track to raise funds to support the Canadian Cancer Society in their fight against cancer. This fundraising event begins with a Survivors Lap and as nightfall approaches, participants light hundreds of luminary candles around the track as a tribute to the lives of loved ones who have been touched by cancer. Proceeds from Relay For Life help the Canadian Cancer Society fund.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is an innovative initiative powered by dedicated law enforcement personnel around the world who want to help Special Olympics athletes experience acceptance, achievement and admiration through sport.
The Township of Langley is one of 30 dedicated communities across BC that will be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) in order to raise awareness for Special Olympics athletes and programs in BC.
Law Enforcement Officials, Special Olympics Athletes and members of the community will be running throughout Langley.
The Langley leg of the LETR will kick-off with a BBQ Fundraiser at the Langley RCMP detachment from 11am-3pm. The Torch Run will start at 1:00pm at the Langley RCMP detachment, ending around 1:30pm at Douglas Park Community School.
There will also be a softball game with students of Douglas Elementary and Special Olympics Athletes from 1:45pm-2:45pm.
This event is open to all members of the community who wish to register.

Aldergrove Rotary and the House of Q will be serving up some tasty barbecue treats. BBQ by donation with all proceeds going to the Terry Fox Foundation. Also:

Experience Murrayville's garden oasis and learn about backyard and worm composting, waterwise gardening, native plants, gardening without pesticides, water conservation and much more.Garden staff will have refreshments,activities for children and contests for everyone -join us for free family fun!
You can purchase Backyard Compost Bins ($35 *includes optional 30 minute workshop),Worm Composter Kits($30 *includes mandatory 1hr workshop), Rain Barrels ($35), Indoor Water Conservation Kits ($10), Outdoor Water Conservation Kits ($20). Must be a Township of Langley resident to purchase composters or water savers. Proof of residency is required.
*Pre-registration is required for workshops. Due to live worms required for worm composting, workshop participants must be registered by May 15.

Co-Hosts Mountain View Wildlife Conservation Centre, Driediger Farms & TRY EVENTS would like to invite you the the Inaugural Berry Healthy Run of the summer! Join us for a very scenic 5K Walk, Jog or Run. Starting at Driediger Farms, the course will take you through the berry fields of Driediger Farms, some great rural roads and experience a summer safari as you make your way through the grounds of Mountain View Conservation & Breeding Centre, and back again.
Registration fees are $15 for Adults & Youth over 10 years of age, $5 for Youth under 10 years of age, and $30 for a Family of 4 (2 Adults/Youth & 2 Kids)
